When Do You Wash Your Face?

When to wash your face…ah, the age old question.

Many of my clients reveal that sometimes they are just too tired to wash their faces at night, but do so in the AM. Well, you will save yourself a lot of money and improve your results, if you can turn this habit on it’s head.

At night, at the very least, you need to take off the day’s grime, makeup, and other environmental factors. Too tired to even cleanse? Use these face cloths to “take off the day”.Your skin gets to work while you are at rest. When you sleep, your cells jump into repair mode. Blood flow, oxygen level, and cell turnover increases; damaged cells are replaced with healthy ones. This is when skin is most receptive to products. Don’t miss this opportunity to put your skincare investment to work. Plus, your products will go farther when they are not battling external factors like the sun and air pollution.

To take advantage of night time skincare, apply a product before you go to bed that targets your specific skin concern. Good night time ingredients include retinols and antioxidants which help improve the texture of your skin. Tonight, make a date with your pillow and clean your face beforehand!
In the morning, if you did a nighttime routine and if you don’t have time for your AM routine, just rinse with water and apply an SPF.
