What Order Should Makeup Be Applied?

I believe there is usually no “right or wrong” when it comes to makeup.

The order of how you put items on your face, the colors that you wear, the textures that you prefer are ALL personal preference. I have trained with many top-notch professionals in the industry, from those who work on the runway circuit, to those who are hired for Vogue, to those who command thousands of dollars per makeover. And I can tell you, ALL of them have different ways of applying makeup and espouse different “rules” etc. Don’t let it intimidate you or fool you. You are in charge and your comfort and confidence are the most important drivers of all that is makeup!

My personal preference is eyes first, then mascara, then detail work on face (i.e. any boo-boos that need to be covered including dark circles), then foundation, then brows, cheeks, and finally lips.
