Washing your face - the right way!

There is actually a “right way” to wash your face! Many people, just “splash and dash” (I made that term up!), and that’s simply a waste of product, as well as, inefficient. If you are going to wash, which you should, you might as well do it correctly and get some RESULTS!

CLEANSING YOUR FACE - HOW TO!

1. If you have makeup on, you can remove it using a remover. I prefer a non-oily one such as this one.

2. Adjust the water to warm. If the water is too hot, it can burn the skin and cause broken capillaries; water that’s too cold can prevent the pores from loosening up and can leave skin feeling tight.

3. Apply the cleanser in circular motions, treating your face like silk, for at least 30 seconds. Avoid stretching or pulling the skin, which may break or damage it. Instead, use your fingertips to gently massage the cleanser into the skin and let it sit for one to two minutes. I usually brush my teeth at this point.

4. After one to two minutes, rinse thoroughly. You may use a washcloth or something like a Clarisonic brush, to get every last bit of cleanser off the skin—cleanser left on the skin can dry it out.

  1. Gently pat your face with a dry towel. Don’t rub incessantly, which can potentially cause dry patches and redness.
