How Hard Could It Be?

I have the honor of styling the makeup and hair for many brides…and I am constantly surprised by the comments, or lack there of, made by others when they see her before the ceremony. As a favor to all the brides-to-be, the MOBs (Mothers of the Bride) and MOGs (Mothers of the Groom) out there, I offer one quick pointer on this topic, which I truly believe will make a MASSIVE difference in the world.
It should be copied, pasted, and texted to the bridal party, including the Fathers, Brothers, Cousins, Friends, Maids of Honor, and Bridesmaids and anyone else out there who…might not get it….well, you know who they are.

OPEN MISSIVE TO ATTENDEES OF THE WEDDING

You may have a lot of niggly “jobs” and “to-dos” on the big day, but there essentially is only ONE and I mean, ONE main duty that EVERYONE has! It’s very SIMPLE but for whatever reason, it may not come easy to you. It’s speaking out loud to the bride (or Mother of the Bride, or Mother of the Groom), with meaning, these three words:

That’s it. If you need to tie a string around your wrist to remember, I’m fine with it. And say them to your wife, or if you are the brother, to your Mom and your sister(s), or if you are the Maid of Honor or a bridesmaid, to your bride.

And while we are at it, let’s be equal opportunity here. Say it to the groom too! How about “You look so handsome!”

I can’t tell you how the stress will lift, the spirits will soar, and the smiles will shine. There’s so much tension behind the scenes as the big hour arrives…just these three little words can make all the difference in the world! You may have a lot of things you want to say to her, but start with these three words. They open the door to just about everything. She will be much more likely to hear what you have to say after these three words than she would be had you not uttered them…

So spread some sunshine and joy this wedding season, this Mother’s Day, this weekend even, and say those three little words. The world will be a better place for it.
