Hair Game

Want to up your hair game? Who doesn’t? I’m about to cry with joy because I have my first hair cut scheduled in more than 8 months! I’ve talked before about how the skin on your face is called your scalp when it gets to the hairline. Meaning that your scalp needs love too! One of the best things you can do for your scalp and therefore your hair, is exfoliate. I recently tried Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Happi Scalp. Don’t get me going on the marketing and the spelling…auto-correct has been screeching at me about “happi”…yes, I know, I know, but apparently the company thinks their target market (millennials?) would prefer their pachyderms tipsy and their spelling non-existent…The good news is that this product really works.

The product is said to keep the scalp nourished, flake-free, and balanced. I recommend using it with a scrub brush like this one from Amazon

This product is a collaboration with a famous celebrity hair stylist named Chris McMillan. I watched his video of how to use the product and it was quite good. You actually apply the product while your hair is dry before the shower. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. You can massage it in with your hands or the scrubber. Then shower…note there are tiny little beads in the product as well that help with the exfoliation, so it’s recommended that you wash your hair twice. Some reviewers on Amazon noted that they had thick hair and had trouble washing it out. I do not have thick hair and have had no trouble. Perhaps too, these reviewers were using a bit more product than necessary. Bonus points for the pointy nozzle that helps you apply the paste directly to the scalp.

Highly recommend Happi Scalp be in your hair repertoire!
